I cannot say enough about what a positive experience getting Lasik surgery was! It’s hard to believe that I had my surgery over 4 years ago. In retrospect I wish I had done it 10 years ago! At the time I made the decision to have LASIK, I was a newly single mother and was tired of dealing with glasses and/or contacts on a daily basis as I had been since I was 5 years old. With an active lifestyle, glasses and contacts were a nuisance, but without them I could barely see someone waving to me from across the room.
The Doctors did several thorough eye examinations to determine if I was a candidate and to make sure my eyes were healthy for surgery. I was elated on hearing that I could proceed with the surgery. I knew from the doctor’s thoroughness, explanations, bedside manner, and his ability to answer all of my questions that my eyes were in great hands.
When the day of the LASIK came, I was nervous yet excited. Upon arrival at the facility, I was advised to take some medication that would relax my nerves. Within an hour, I had a few final eye exams done and Lasik was to commence. The staff was very professional and friendly; I remember that they were as excited as I was for my new vision. The Lasik procedure itself didn’t last longer than 10 minutes. It was an unusual experience but completely pain free and within moments of the Lasik being completed I could read a clock across the room for the first time in my life.
Four years post-operative and I still maintain 20/20 vision! It’s been such a blessing in my life. I can live an active lifestyle with my daughter without the extra worries of contacts and/or glasses. Whenever asked, I share my experience and great decision I made to have LASIK performed by the doctors at EPLB.
